We have not had any issues with the black fleece bleeding. Regarding the measurements, we measure from the center of the horse’s chest (center ring on breast collar) to the where the tug strap attaches to the saddle. For example, the horse would measure 25” buckled in the shortest hole and 28” in the longest. The tail is measured the same way so the horse size would adjust from 21” to 31” (center to end of snap). We can shorten the tail piece (girth strap) for you just please be sure to make a note about that when ordering.
