4720 - Contoured Bareback PadI Had purchase the 4720- Contoured Wax Rugged Ride Bareback Pad and being a novice, i thought how difficult could this be to set up. Well I was wrong, since I had no idea what I was doing. I put the saddle on my horse and didn't cinch it up well enough and when my horse release his breath while lunging, the saddle slid down his side and spooked him so bad, he bucked for his life. When he finally calmed, we both did. I thought I really need to see some literature on how to set this up correctly. When I call Triple E about the situation, I was told they didn't have any literature to share. The staff I spoke with said gosh, let me look into this and get back to you. That afternoon, I got an email from the staff at Triple E saying we are making a video and will get it to you in the morning. Wow, I was shocked and very surprise of the level of customer service and the lengths by which this company will go to ensure that horse and rider have a wonderful experience with their product.
Thanks Triple E and D. B for your support with this situation.

Ready to buy a second one! This is by far the BEST bareback pad I have ever owned, and I have been riding for a long time. Excellent quality and craftsmanship. My horse loves it...I love it! It really does stay in place, unlike most bareback pads, and I can even mount from the ground. It was the only bareback pad that I could find that had everything I required, a real western cinching system, a non-slip bottom and felt center, real working stirrups that are easy to adjust and dee rings for a breast collar. My only complaints are the stirrup straps can pinch your legs. I easily solved this issue by putting fleece stirrup leather covers on them ($12). Also, the cinching system is placed directly over the withers, instead of just behind them like is typically done. I was upset by this at first, but I put a pad underneath, which lifted it enough to not put pressure on my mare who has high withers....problem solved. If you have a mutton withered, round horse this won't be an issue. Oddly enough, as I rode in the pad, I decided that I really liked where the cinching system was, because it put the stirrup attachment behind it...which put my feet exactly where they should be for a balanced ride. This pad puts you in the correct position, which is amazing for a bareback pad. I am ready to buy my second one in a different color. Very Happy!

Best bareback pad I've ever owned!I was a little skeptical about this pad's claims to stay put while you mounted from the ground from the ground but it's true! It actually "sticks" so well to your horse that you had better have it centered before you tighten up because you cannot just put your weight on the stirrup and shift it into place. Unless you get off and straighten it, you will end up adjusting the stirrups to accommodate the crookedness. It is also very rugged and has ben through some thick briars without a mark. My only concern was that the stirrup strap did pinch my inner thigh a couple of times. This may have been due to me sitting crookedly though, because the pad was not centered on my horse's back. I like that it cinches with a regular western saddle knot and that you can attach a breast collar. I have only used mine a few times ( I just got it a week ago) but so far I am loving it!

A I am fairly certain that the only difference is that the rugged ride pad has a waxed, oilskin type seat which is less prone to tear. I have two of them and they’re great. I use them on all different sized horses from narrow Standardbreds, to ponies, to drafts.

A This rigging is very similar to western rigging. You can tie a saddle know or use the prepunched holes to hook it like a belt buckle. It's nice.

A I have used a stiff brush for casual cleaning and Murphy's oil soap for a thorough cleaning.
